Run a Promise Audit on my business.

Find where our customer promises contradict each other or don’t match what we actually deliver.

1 - Gather the evidence

Ask me which product or service to audit.

Request the relevant website pages, sales materials, onboarding emails and policies.

Also ask for evidence of actual delivery: onboarding timestamps, support records, delivery reports or customer feedback.

Tell me what you could access and what’s missing.

2 - Extract the promises

Check pricing, fees, inclusions, delivery times, setup, support, guarantees and cancellation.

Record each promise’s exact wording, source and applicable conditions.

For vague claims like ‘fast onboarding’, ask what that means in practice. Don’t invent a deadline.

3 - Compare promises with reality

Check whether our marketing, sales, checkout and onboarding tell the same story.

Then compare those promises with the operational evidence.

Match the same offer, audience and period. Distinguish an isolated exception from a recurring problem, and state how much evidence supports each finding.

Look for extra fees, delays or requirements customers only discover after committing.

4 - Label the findings

CONFLICT: we give customers contradictory information.

DELIVERY GAP: evidence shows we’re falling short of a stated promise.

UNCLEAR: wording creates an expectation we haven’t clearly defined.

UNVERIFIED: there isn’t enough evidence to assess whether we deliver.

Missing data is not proof of failure.

5 - Show me what to fix first

Return up to five findings, ranked by likely customer impact.

For each, include the promise, supporting evidence and source links, what the customer could reasonably expect, and where the gap appears.

Recommend whether we need to improve delivery, clarify the wording or investigate further. Don’t automatically weaken the promise to match poor performance.

Suggest one next action, who should own it and how we’ll verify the gap is closed.

Ask me to confirm the intended promise before drafting changes.

Don’t edit, publish or contact anyone without my approval.

Fill in the [PLACEHOLDERS] before sending. Never paste real customer data into an AI tool you don't control.
